Montauk, Long Island
I’m always looking for new artistic techniques to capture Mother Nature on film. Up on the northern Montauk shores in the middle of winter, I had the beach to myself. Golden twilight descended over the Atlantic Ocean and I went to work. Always set up on my tripod, I took a series of long exposures to capture the movement of the ocean. I decided to really experiment and actually pan the camera across the location to track the movement of the waves. I was stoked with the result. The image gives a unique sense of color, softness and freedom, the mood I was trying to capture of this magical suburb of New York.
