Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada
I have always been intrigued and interested in boat jetties and wharfs. I can’t help but think of their history and the stories they must hold with the boatman that have hitched their boat and prepared for the days journey. It was an incredibly cold morning as I walked down to the cove where I had heard there was an old rickety jetty that cast out into the river mouth. The misty morning added to the calm waters and the light rainfall from the night before helped bring out the colors from the lichens that grow on the wood. The details in this shot are amazing. The spiders web on the right hand side, the worn and tired feel of the decaying wood all add to this photo telling a thousand stories from the boatman that have walked upon this jetty before.
