Montauk has a real charm of its own and I needed to capture that special vibe. Something had to pop. I had a special week combing the shores and beaches searching for this image. I knew a full moon was brewing, but was concerned about the cloudy skies that had been lingering for the past few days. I discovered this classic jetty and a couple of other locations, but decided to risk the chance and see if the clouds would clear up so that I could expose for the moon. I sat at the end of the jetty watching slowly as the clouds floated across the horizon. Finally, I had my five-minute break. I worked fast as the moon cast its path along the water to the horizon. It was truly a magical moment, capturing the evening silence and the soul of Mother Nature. When you look at this image, I hope you can truly feel the tranquil vibe of “Moon Over Montauk.” A night I will never forget.
