The mid west skies spoke to me. I mapped out a rough map of all the back roads and set out to capture the spirit of the land. One of my trademarks when I shoot is simplicity - which is actually quite difficult as composition is critical. As the evening skies colored I was driving down a classic dirt road when I spotted the windmill. I positioned my camera on the lower corner of the frame and the magical skies above it. As I pressed the shutter I felt the vibe of the evening. A warm breeze brushed past me and the windmill blades sang their song - it was a special moment.
