I had shot this beach at dawn several times and was well rewarded for my efforts with some beautiful images. This time however, I wanted a more dramatic feel and so chose a vertical composition. It’s quite hard shooting vertical with the panoramic camera as it can sometimes distort the perspective, but in this case I love the way the palm trees loom so large in the foreground and then carry the eye right through to the horizon, following the gentle leading line of the waters edge.
