To older Navajos, entering a place like Antelope Canyon was like entering a cathedral. They would pause at the entrance to ensure the right frame of mind and to prepare for protection and respect. This would also allow them to leave with an uplifted sense of mother nature’s power and to be in harmony with something far greater than themselves. It was, and still is, a profound spiritual experience and this is what I had hoped to capture with this image.
