Just before Christmas 1999, I hiked into the stunning Otway Ranges in the hope of capturing a memorable image of the picturesque Hopetoun Falls. The diffused light filtering through the trees provided me with the perfect mood for this shot. Wanting to feature the rock pool in the foreground, I used a long exposure, knowing that the bubbles would complete their journey through the frame and create the swirling effect I wanted. I was stunned by the results, the incredible sharpness of the image contrasting with the dreamy foreground.
