Aspen, Colorado
The fall colors in the Colorado Rockies were just past their peak and I was forced to shoot a different style of shot than I was anticipating. This morning after an incredibly cold hike, I hit the road early. As the sun rose, long shadows and backlit frozen snow crystals twinkled in the distance and caught my attention. It was so cold I had to gaffa tape the tripod legs to prevent my hands from sticking. I was fueled with adrenaline and knew I only had a few minutes window until the sun melted the crystals. The configuration of shadows of purity made this shot. It was so quiet I could hear my heart beat.
