The design of this is a pure architectural masterpiece – every element of it – and I had to capture that through my lens. After looking at all angles, in all light, I chose to set up just beneath the Manhattan Bridge to capture it’s magic. There was a ten minute window I knew I had to shoot – to balance the cobalt blue twilight and city lights. A 30 second exposure gave the river reflections a painterly feel – something I always try to accomplish when I’m shooting. A wide-angle lens gave the bridge its strong dynamic appearance as the city lights illuminated the horizon.  Soon the blue turned to black and nightfall was here. I hope I did the Manhattan Bridge justice, the gateway between cities – such a New York landmark. Just love it!
