Sunrises are always one of my favorites to shoot; a new day awakening, and you don’t know what’s going to happen. After a week of strong winds, I knew a calm morning had to come. Flashlight in hand, I hiked out to the shore and set up my equipment. It was captivating–looking out as the horizon yielded rich yellows and oranges as they blended softly into the night’s blues. Nature’s kaleidoscope of colors reflected perfectly in the shallow waters of the Nantucket shore as I pressed the shutter. My patience was rewarded. Several minutes later winds took away the morning’s gift andI am just glad I was there to capture it.
