Manhattan, New York
Shooting in panoramic format always allows my imagination and perspective to get really creative. It’s difficult to get a unique shot of a building that’s been shot a million times by other photographers.
I choose to shoot a vertical panoramic to show off the strength of the building. As I set up, the New York cops didn’t like the look of what I was doing and asked me to leave. I had to come back early the following morning to capture the scene. I took a 1/2 second exposure to give the flags some movement and add an element of motion to the shot. I wanted the vertical format to follow the lines of the pillars and contrast the skyline.
