Coming from Australia, the Atlantic coastline was a new experience to me—the light, the sound, the smells. I loved these primitive beach picket fences that disappeared into the horizon. This afternoon the wind was blowing a gale and the beach had a great vibe about it. No one was around and I felt I was in a special place as I set up and carefully composed this scene. As the sun touched the horizon it cast its warm glow over the shifting sands and I took the shot. When I look at this image it takes me right back to where I was.
