Photography is all about capturing a mood, a feeling. I feel a special connection with nature, often very powerful. This late afternoon was phenomenal. Standing on the edge of the ocean, I gasped in awe as the holy light illuminated this cathedral window. I spent days at the location, anticipating the exact angle of light shining through this gorgeous passage. I used a neutral density filter and a long exposure to change the mood of the shot. As the pounding surf hit the rocks, the golden light illuminated the sea mist into a shaft of glory. Moments later, the sun disappeared and it was just a normal scene. Witnessing such a moment and capturing it is what I live for. Mother Nature is so powerful, I never underestimate Her.
