Tucson, Arizona
Gaining access to this legendary site was a mission in itself—one that took over a year of negotiation with the United States Air Force. With the approval of Colonel Patrick T. Kumashiro, Commander of the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group, I finally crossed into the gates of AMARG, known around the world as the “Boneyard.”
Spread across the desert in Tucson, Arizona, this sprawling expanse shelters more than 4,000 aircraft—silent giants resting under the relentless sun. To stand among them was like stepping into the pages of history, surrounded by the echoes of flight, power, and human ingenuity.
Capturing this scene in black and white strips everything down to its raw essence—the machines, the desert, the sky—frozen in a moment of pure, timeless grandeur.
