The canals of Venice offer a completely unique aesthetic to the feel of the city. The texture and light of the landscape seems to dramatically change with every passing minute of the day and every movement of the sun. The reflections below almost create a second city that beams its own energy back up to the world above. This was such a rare moment – when visibility was still perfectly clear and yet a darkening glow cast a mood that embraced the pastel buildings and the ground at my feet. I stood in silent witness of the undeniable magic that dwelled among the shadows. The tower bell ringing in the distance added a sense of romance to the shot – an old world feel that was further highlighted by the welcoming presence of the lamps on the canal. The architecture and sunset were in perfect harmony with each other, providing a palette of endless tones. Time stood still as the sounds echoed through the streets on this warm spring morning.
