Manhattan, New York
New York architecture is simply amazing. Especially since it was almost a century ago when the detail and thought went into the design. I wanted to expose some of the hidden architecture and underneath the Williamsburg Bridge was exactly what I was looking for. 99.8% of people would be shooting from atop the bridge, rather than beneath it. I chose a really wide-angle lens and long exposure to maximize this dramatic composition. It leads your eye right into the shot, carried by the steel girders – such a work of art. Hard lighting is difficult to shoot, so I waited for partial clouds to soften the scene before I pressed the shutter. My approach to photography is simply exhausting, making sure everything ties in together perfectly – composition, weather and exposure.
