18 months of preparation led to a Japan photoshoot to remember. The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in Kyoto was the destination envisioned since the beginning. Shooting for weeks with no rest, the shot was still allusive. Patience was key as the high volume of tourists added to Mother Nature’s unpredictability, her windy conditions caused the bamboo to sway and bend, making the shot impossible to capture. With time running out and only one day remaining, the last night was the final and only opportunity to capture the true zen vibe Japan is renowned for. As night fell a light rain began, enhancing the color of the bamboo and transforming the forest into a truly magical place.
