Bryce Canyon, Utah
Bryce Canyon is an incredible place! It’s been called a forest of stone because of the army of spires called “hoodoos.” They seemed to almost speak to me and I wanted to get a shot that got a lot of them in frame rising up and back from where I was standing. I kept the sky out of frame so that the hoodoos would dominate the image. The sprinkling of trees give a great contrast to the majestic red of the rock and I love the way the layers give depth and character to the composition. This is a place that really glows like it’s alive and after I pressed the shutter I knew that I had captured the hoodoos in all their glory.
