Disappearing into the fog, the huge steel pylons of the Golden Gate bridge take on an eerie form from this unusual angle. This magnificent bridge has been photographed by thousands of people and from every possible vantage, but I was still determined to capture a new angle. I drove across to the Sausalito end of the bridge searching for that special place. I wanted to accentuate the architectural strength of the bridge so chose to use a really wide angle lens and came in really close. The base of the bridge was swathed in fog, but as I began to shoot upwards it slowly started to lift, revealing this stunning image.
