Looking at Nature from a different perspective is what I constantly strive for — searching for that surreal painterly feel. The Fall in Oregon was glowing and I created a series of exposures along a secluded river bank, but I wanted more. Looking further into nature, I focused in on a scene-within-a-scene. Knowing a long exposure of the river would add a special feel to the shot, I framed up an overhanging branch — its golden tones contrasting against the subtle hues of the flowing stream. I was deep in the wilderness capturing this scene — the gurgling sound of the stream and smells of the moist forest air just bring it all back when I look at this image.
