Baxter State Park, Maine
There’s nothing to compare with fall in New England. When I visited Baxter State Park it looked like the trees were on fire. The reds, yellows and oranges were simply brilliant. But I wanted a shot that had those colors as a highlight of the composition rather than taking up the whole frame. When I saw this lake scene, I knew it was what I’d been looking for. The clouds, mountains and those magnificent trees reflected in the mirror surface of the water gave me a shot that really captured the sense of place and time.
