Fall in Zion is an incredible sight with the ochre cliffs setting an amazing backdrop for the foliage colors. I set up on the edge of the stream with a wild color spectrum in front of me. I knew the water would look dreamlike by using a four second exposure, streaking the white caps as they flowed over the rocks. I composed carefully keeping the temple to the left of the shot, as I wanted all the elements of nature to become part of the scene. Light overcast skies provided a subtle hue and I felt the moment was right. The image has a painterly touch about it and it’s that feel that I always strive for - more than just a photograph.
