Wahweap Hoodoos, Kanab, Utah
The place was like another world. In a very remote location in Utah, I drove through the isolated Kodachrome Basin and camped the night. I set off early in the morning, following a dry riverbed for over a mile. This place is not on the map, so I kept my eyes peeled for the white monolith. In the distance I noticed what looked like snow buried in a valley. Cautiously, I hiked in. I felt privileged to be so sheltered and embraced by such a fragile and unique environment. I hurried to shoot as the low morning light softened the shot. So many abstract angles presented themselves, but I selected this one for my galleries.
