The scale and grandeur of Yosemite constantly amaze me. I wanted to seek a different perspective on such a photographed park. This location was phenomenal, looking down to the ancient valley covered by glaciers I waited till sunset and low light to capture the magic of the place. A long 8 second exposure gave the shot a magical painterly feel that I needed for such an epic landscape. The purple hues accented the ruggedness of the valley, and added another dimension to the image. Capturing such grandeur is always a challenge, and I hope I succeeded when you look at Half Dome.
