Yosemite National Park, California
On the day I took this shot, it was Ansel Adams birthday–the man responsible for some of the most iconic black and white images of Yosemite. I had spent a few days at Yosemite with really bad weather, but I stuck it out because there’s nothing better for dramatic shots than shooting a clearing storm. I hiked up to Inspiration Point under a blanket of thick fog. Over a period of a few hours, the fog burnt off and sunk to the valley floor. Bridal Veil Falls seemed to glow as it spilled out of its mountainous enclave. This place is a photographer’s Mecca, and rightly so–it would have to be one of the most beautiful locations in the world. This shot came together right before my eyes, all the elements of nature in perfect harmony.
