Santorini, Greece
I had spent over six weeks on the island of Santorini, and there were clear skies every single day. These clouds are a rarity over there because of the dry nature of this location. This particular morning, I awoke to the cloudy skies, jumped on my moped, and drove to this location that I had scouted out a week prior. The midday sun was high in the sky, and the clouds were disappearing fast; so I knew I had to get the shot. I composed the scene between two buildings and took a series of shots from different angles.
I really like this frame showing the shadow of the old ladder on the wall—and it just felt right. Not long after I took this shot, the clouds completely disappeared, and it was another day in paradise. It was a shot I had waited a long time for, and it was well worth the wait. The clouds gave this shot the extra dimension I always look for when shooting.
