I wanted to capture the bliss and calm of the Keys in just one shot. Cloudy and windy skies during my first week in Florida really started to worry me. The location was already in mind, and needed a high tide. I couldn’t leave without capturing paradise. I had so much invested into it in the first place. Patience was my only grueling option. On day eight, it all paid off. Mother Nature finally granted me a window of opportunity. The day was calm. I headed straight for my destination. I knew this shot was the winner. I shot many different angles, but selected this one for my gallery. The jetty was so authentic. The little brass lanterns, bleached boards, and rope handrail gave it so much character. It really was a tranquil moment.
