Venice, Italy
I could not leave Venice without capturing a classic shot of the world famous canals that flow alongside the residences and shops of the city. It was morning – just before the start of the busy day and the gondolas patiently rocked in silence – ready and waiting to offer an experience of a lifetime. The crystal passages reflected the pastel colors of this city – evoking an intense, romantic feeling. Bridges along the way not only connect the buildings, but generations of friendship between the Italian people. The soft, even light of the scene provided a magical charm. A 200mm lens compressed this image perfectly and enhanced the depth I am always going after. Although there are hundreds of canals in the city – interconnected like a maze – this one had the feeling I was chasing. This was my ultimate Venice moment – a dream
I still experience every time I think about it.
