This was one of those shots that didn’t reveal its full beauty until after it had been developed. I knew I had the sun nicely positioned, peeping through the tree. But when I saw the final image, it looked like a jewel: a true morning star. The surrounding leaves resembled a blaze that had been lit by the sun. And this was one of those rare occasions where I welcomed some blue sky as it provided a perfect contrast of color and form to the detail of the leaves. There was something uplifting in capturing this moment in nature.
