San Francisco, California
The Golden Gate is one of the most photographed bridges in the world. I really wanted to capture a different side to this magnificent structure, and I spent weeks shooting her from every different angle and at all times of the day. Although I got some beautiful shots, they never quite had that extra element I wanted. Finally I discovered Bakers Beach, and I had the vantage I was searching for. I waited for the days last rays to highlight the delicate contours of the bridge, then used a slow exposure to exaggerate the crashing waves. The weeks of waiting were worth it. I absolutely love this shot.
