I’ve always had a special affection for Red Rock Canyon, which is just a short distance from my home in Las Vegas. The light can work absolute wonders on the mountains there, setting them on fire. This scene caught my eye as a great vertical shot. The rare green of a desert plant grabs the foreground while also leading the eye to the mountains and clouds in the background.  This image is like layers stacked up all the way to the clear skies at the very top. I just love the composition! It’s an honor to see nature on show like this and to find ways to present it as art.
