White Mountain National Forest, New Hampshire
After a week of torrential rain, the Swift River certainly lived up to its name. Overcast skies provided me with the soft light I was chasing, and I set up my tripod overlooking the roaring river. I carefully selected a location where the river patterns were strong and the colors raged. A long exposure truly captured the mood of the river, a softness you can only see on a long exposure. I can hear the sound of the cascades and smell fall leaves when I look at this shot.
