Lake Moraine, Canada
I travelled through the Canadian Rockies at the tail end of summer, but the craggy peaks protecting Lake Moraine still retained a covering of snow. Icy glacial rivers tumble down the mountains and into the turquoise waters of the lake. I had experienced several weeks of storms and bad weather, but on this uncharacteristically still day there was not even a slight breeze to ripple the glassy surface. I set up in the late afternoon light, wanting to optimize the effect of the reflections and create a mood of tranquillity in the image.
