As the sun descended, I made my pilgrimage to the base of the majestic Uluru. Set in the midst of an unforgiving desert, every evening this spiritual icon plays host to Mother Nature. As I watched enthralled, the sun touched the horizon and briefly highlighted the rock with its golden glow. For that instant the whole scene was illuminated with a strange diffused light, and I knew that I had captured a very special shot.
