I arrived at Wineglass Bay the evening before, in order to study the tide and plan a composition for my sunrise shoot. I chose this setting where the low tide exposed and accentuated the rocky foreshore. As dawn approached, I was so transfixed by the vision of the huge golden orb appearing over the horizon, I almost forgot to take the shot! The scene changed a hundred times as the strengthening sun illuminated the surface of the rocks and the ebb and flow of the tide spilled over them. As the scene unfolded before me, I imagined Mother Nature stretching her arms out to the new day and felt truly privileged to be witness to this beautiful show.
