I always try to look further into a landscape than the obvious. I had been shooting the peaks of the Colorado Mountains in the middle of winter for over a week. This morning I grabbed my gear, decked myself out with snowshoes and trekked up a frozen river bed. Fresh overnight snow provided me with an abstract canvas.
I was sheltered by a mountain shadow as I took a series of abstracts. When I looked through the camera, the shape of a nude woman became apparent–and I named the image ‘Ice Princess’.
