White Mountains, California
It was like being on top of the world! At 12,000’ altitude, the air was thin - hiking around to find the amazing tree was no easy task - I had to stop and catch my breath every 10 minutes! And I thought I was fit. The ancient bristlecone are the oldest living things on earth, over 5,000 years old. Just think about that, what this tree has seen over centuries. I touched its bark and got goosebumps - it was like a link through time. The sky on top of the mountain was amazing. Finally I found the perfect tree, twisted trunk, reaching up to touch the sky. Swirling clouds above added an incredible mood and as I pressed the shutter, I felt a connection with Mother Nature. Its a moment I’ll remember forever. What an amazing world we live in.
