North Queensland had been my home for over two decades. It will always have a special place in my heart, so I chose this particular image to represent that. It was a balmy summer’s morning, dead calm and the tide came right up to the fringing palms. There was a beautiful feeling in the air; I walked out into waist-deep water and set up my tripod, as I wanted to look back into the beach over the water. The peaks of Cape Tribulation floated on the horizon; as I pressed the shutter, I felt as if I had the world to myself.
