Living on the beach at Holloways affords me the luxury of awakening to a spectacular painted sky every morning. I never tire of it, and love to capture the different moods of its beguiling backdrop. I lay down on the sand and framed this shell in the foreground as the dawn show intensified. I shot a series of exposures using a slow shutter speed, and as the waves flowed gently over the shell it added a misty effect.
