There is a certain magic in the bamboo forest. I waited for overcast skies and needed muted colors to capture the full color spectrum of the forest, as there is such a subtle color variation that the camera has trouble reading. Wind gusts blew down the Pipiwai Trails and echoed an enchanting sound throughout the forest – each stick of bamboo had its own sound, like a wind chime. I took a series of exposures as the light dropped in the valley and selected this exposure for my gallery. Shooting upwards towards the canopy gave me a unique perspective that enhanced the shot. I hope you can feel as Zen as I did when you experience the magic of the forest.
