Boardman, Oregon
I am constantly seeking symmetry in nature – it takes you in and gives that photograph a meaning. This enormous poplar plantation in Oregon was a charm to shoot. Miles and miles of gorgeous poplar trees – wherever you looked. Being inside the forest brought me back to my childhood for whatever reason. Looking down each row of trees was like looking into another world. It was like looking into time.
My biggest challenge was deciding which perspective to shoot. It was a real mind game. One shot had to say it all. After thousands of shots, I shot the middle row to give the image depth and strength. The soft golden light of the forest gave the image that special warmth I was chasing.
