Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
Artist Point was definitely named for a reason. This shot even looks like a painting. I set my alarm for an early start and headed to the roar of the falls. The whole scene was covered in mist as I arrived at the point. I was crushed. I paced the path as I waited for the mist to clear. 30 minutes later I set up my camera and early morning light blasted the cliffs and falls. It was a lightshow I’ll never forget, especially considering minutes earlier I couldn’t see anything. I pressed the shutter and felt great. Soon after the mist burnt off and it was just another normal day. Timing is everything: I love the feeling. I felt like I had just seen another world.
