Yosemite National Park, California
My best mate Mic had just arrived from Australia and I asked him where in the world he’d like to shoot. Without hesitation he said Yosemite. I had been keeping a close eye on the weather, and noticed the second week in February there was some unmatched weather approaching. That’s all we needed to know. Eight hours later in the 4-wheel camper, we arrived and camped the night. Throughout the night, snow fell continuously and I could feel a shot happening. We got up around 5:30 am, and carefully drove on snowy, uncleared icy roads to Valley View. As the sun rose, this absolutely magic scene unveiled itself to us. I shot like a mad man, goosebumps all over, as I pressed the shutter. We were stunned and in total awe of the incredible scene—the silence only broken by the running stream and my shutter.
